Meet the Assistant Provider/Teachers
Ginger Millard
- Ginger is a mom to 2 teenagers.
- She has several years of experience as a Lead Teacher in a child care setting.
- She volunteers at Oregon School District working with in Elementary Ed and Middle School.
- She used to be a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Ginger is creative, energetic, kind, and patient when working with little ones.
- She enjoys working with young children because they are "very upbeat and positive. It's fun. I think I'm a kid at heart."
Indigo Papke
- Indigo is 21 and a student at Madison College.
- She has many years of experience caring for her young cousins and her friends' children.
- She also has experience as a teacher for PreK children in an ATA Martial Arts class at Madison West.
- Indigo is calm, attentive, and patient when working with young children.
- She likes working with young children because she "likes seeing them grow and watching their development. It's very interesting to observe how little human brains work," she says.
Deb Rufer
- Deb is a mom of a 16-year-old. She's starting a
new career after retiring from the banking industry.
- Deb loves children. She is from a big family and was raised on a farm in southwest Wisconsin. She's been babysitting and caring for children since
she was 12.
- She is organized, kind, and patient. She is very comfortable working with a group of young children. She gently guides them through activities and
transitions.
- Deb loves working with young children because "it's fun to observe them discover new things amd watch them develop."
Julie Short
- Julie was raised on a farm in a big family. She took care of young siblings and then plenty of nieces and nephews and now many grand-nieces and nephews too.
- In addition to completing child care professional entry-level training, Julie has two degrees from the University of Wisconsin—Madison, in Communication Arts and Theatre.
- She is patient, energetic, organized, and calm when working with young children. She effortlessly guide a group of young children through many activities and transitions. She makes each child feel special.
- Julie likes working with young children because they are like "little mirrors. It's cute to see them copy adults." She also says "that in the world we live in, it is more important than ever to see that their educational journey is set in a good foundation."
Kari Stevens
- Kari is a busy mom to 3 teenagers.
- She is a Special Education alumnus from Arizona State University.
- She taught Special Ed for many years and was a Lead Teacher at Little Parachutes Preschool in Verona.
- Kari is energetic, loving, and creative when working with young children.
- She likes working with young children because she "misses her own children when they were babies."
